Where did
the kennel name come from? We started with Cocker Spaniels in the
70's. Although our first official conformation show was in 1978, our
first two cockers weren't quite good enough and we got into
obedience. Those two cockers, Sinbad and Yankee, were good in
obedience and excelled on the recall. They would sit at the end of
the mat and wiggle their butts and with all their body language say
"Call me! Call me!" Hence our name - Kallmee!
We stayed with
cockers till 1994 and had a number of champions both here in America
and in Europe. We also had several champion English Cocker Spaniels
over the years. We've had two Akitas, one Afghan Hound (Mason the
wonder dog) and a champion Japanese Chin - CH Touches The Cat's Meow
- Miss Kitty (aka "she who rules the roost"). We got our first
Vizsla in the early 1980s and the rest, as they say, is
history.
Although we are very active in the breed ring, we
have continued in obedience throughout the years and have finished
many obedience titles, taught classes (both conformation and
obedience) for many years and judge matches for both
venues.
We haven't been in the dog ring as much the last few
years as our adventures have carried us into the horse show rings as
of late. But look for us in the breed ring with Kallmee Athena
(Zena) and in obedience with Ch Kallmee The Golddigger RN(Abby). In
the horse ring you can find us showing Awesome Chocolate (Kisses)
and The Chocolate Effect (Hershey) at the Appaloosa shows. Kisses
was Reserve National Champion in Masters Western Pleasure and
Hershey has numerous Top Tens in Trail class.
